Augusta Marine learns to surf after losing his legs

Nothing is stopping Augusta native Marine Sgt. Jon Blank from enjoying life. Blank recently learned to surf during a vacation in San Diego California.

What makes this lesson unique is Blank lost both of his legs in an explosion while serving Afghanistan last year. Eyewitness News has followed Blank through his recovery.

Blank's father Matthew says seeing his son adjust to life is inspiring. "It will show you what can happen if you don't ever quit," he said. "Something we all should do."

In August, Blank took his first steps. He was fitted for prosthetic legs at the Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio Texas.
